Porches is the solo alias of Aaron Maine, the New York singer, songwriter, and producer who has spent more than a decade bending pop toward the dreamier, more electronic end of the spectrum. The project moves easily between dream pop, synth-pop, and indie rock, and recent work like Ricky Music and All Day Gentle Hold ! shows Maine still chasing that restless mix rather than settling into one sound.
He came up out of Pleasantville and built Porches into something flexible from the start. What began as a solo alias has at times worked as a full band, a looseness that has let the project keep changing shape over the years.
That instinct toward collaboration runs through the work. Maine has shared the project with players including Greta Kline, Maya Laner, and Seiya Jewell, and Porches records through Domino Recording Company. The live history spans rooms like Baby's All Right and the Great American Music Hall, making Porches a grounded fit for festival and club lineups, college programming, and private engagements.
