Purple Disco Machine is the stage name of German DJ and producer Tino Piontek, born Tino Schmidt, working in house, disco, and dance. Signed to SME, he has kept a release rhythm that runs from the album Exotica through the 2024 single "Beat Of Your Heart" and on to "Ghost Town" in 2025, each one built for a room that is already moving.
He came to house music the long way around. Born in Dresden, he grew up in East Germany listening to his father's smuggled black market records, fell for house in the mid-1990s, and found his first success under the pseudonym Stereofunk before launching the Purple Disco Machine project.
The awards track the reach of that catalog: gold records in Belgium and Finland in 2021 for "Hypnotized", in France in 2023 for "Dopamine", in France in 2024 for both "Fireworks" and the album Exotica, and in Greece in 2024 for "Substitution". He is a regular performer on the international festival circuit as a DJ and producer, with sets at rooms and grounds including Campo Marte, The Concourse Project, and the Zwinger. That makes him a natural fit for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate events, casino floors, and private shows.
