PVRIS is the alternative rock band led by Lyndsey "Lynn Gunn" Gunnulfsen, working where electronic rock and pop instincts meet the post-hardcore playing the members came up on. White Noise arrived on Velocity Records and made PVRIS a Rise Records act. By the time Use Me came out in 2020 on Warner/Reprise, the pop side of the writing had moved to the front, and Burn the Witch followed in 2024.
The band did not begin there. PVRIS formed in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012 out of the metalcore group Operation Guillotine, then reshaped itself around Gunnulfsen into an electronic-influenced rock project. More than a decade of activity separates the two versions of the band, and the current one still carries the weight of the first.
Gunnulfsen handles vocals, guitar, keyboards and much of the rest of the instrumentation, with Brian MacDonald on bass and keyboards and Alex Babinski alongside them. The live history runs through large outdoor rooms, including Leader Bank Pavilion, the Filene Center at Wolf Trap, and Saratoga Performing Arts Center, which is the scale this band is built for. That makes PVRIS a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, casino stages, and private events.
