Rationale is the solo project of Tinashe Fazakerley, working across R&B, soul, and indie pop with an electronic streak running through all of it. He relaunched under the name in 2015, putting "Fast Lane" and "Something for Nothing" out through SoundCloud and Spotify and following them with the "Fuel to the Fire" EP the same year. The self-titled album "Rationale" landed in 2017 on WMG, and "Metanoia" arrived in 2025.
He got to that name by way of two countries. Fazakerley was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and raised in the UK, and the 2015 relaunch was a deliberate reset rather than a debut.
The live résumé built quickly around the first album. Rationale supported Bastille on a UK arena tour ahead of early 2017 while also headlining rooms of his own, including The Fleece in Bristol that January, and he is set to play HERE at Outernet in London on 7 May 2026. That range, arena support one week and a packed club the next, makes him a straightforward fit for festival stages, college programming, corporate dates, and private engagements.
