Redfoo is the solo name of Stefan Kendal Gordy, a Los Angeles rapper and producer working across hip hop, electropop, dance and electro house. He co-founded the electropop duo LMFAO in 2006, and his own run since has leaned on singles built for a dance floor: "Let's Get Ridiculous" in 2013, "New Thang" in 2015, and the full-length Party Rock Mansion in 2016. Those records did their heaviest work far from home. "Let's Get Ridiculous" went four times platinum in Australia in 2014 and gold in New Zealand the year after, while "New Thang" was certified platinum in New Zealand in 2015 and gold in Poland as recently as 2024.
He came to music from inside the family business. Born in Los Angeles on September 3, 1975, he is the youngest son of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., and he spent the 1990s behind the boards, producing for and collaborating with local rappers well before any of it carried his own name.
The catalog runs under several banners: LMFAO, the duo Red Foo & Dre Kroon, and Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew, the configuration that carries the party rock material live.
