Rival Sons are an American rock band who work in hard rock with the blues sitting close to the surface. Their catalog carries that mix forward, from Hollow Bones in 2016 to Feral Roots in 2019 and on to a pair of albums released in 2023, Darkfighter and Lightbringer. Century Media Records is their label home.
The band came together in Long Beach, California in 2009, built from what was left of guitarist Scott Holiday's earlier group Black Summer Crush.
Holiday's founding lineup with Jay Buchanan, Robin Everhart, and Michael Miley set the shape of the band, and that lineup's work has carried them to stages including Billy Bob's Texas, the Showbox at the Market, and the Knitting Factory Concert House. They remain a live act suited to festival and fair lineups, casino showrooms, college and corporate events, and private shows.
