RL Grime is the electronic project of producer Henry Alfred Steinway, working across electro house, big room house, drum and bass, and EDM. His full-length VOID arrived in 2014, NOVA followed in 2018, and PLAY: APEX came in 2023, a run that traces the project from underground beat circles to main-stage electronic music. His work has come out through WeDidIt and Sable Valley Records.
He built up to it. Born in the Century City area of Los Angeles, Steinway came out of 2000s party rap and electro house, releasing as Clockwork on electro and house labels with tracks including Ayoo and Titan, before starting the RL Grime project in the winter of 2011.
That same period put him inside the Los Angeles WeDidIt collective alongside producers Shlohmo, Groundislava, and D33J, a group that shaped the sound he has carried since. He has since been active from 2011 to the present, with club and nightlife dates including Zouk Nightclub Las Vegas, Mission NYC, and Mayfair Lounge & Terrace. That mix of festival-scale production and late-night club work makes him a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, casino entertainment, corporate events, and private shows.
