Ruti is a British singer working across R&B, soul, and pop, with neo-soul, folk, and jazz threads in her writing and touches of electronic and dance production at the edges. Her single "Racing Cars" arrived in 2019, and the releases since have widened the frame: "MixTea_MilkTape!" in 2023 and "Maybe I Got It Wrong" in 2025. She records under Big Family Music Limited.
She came up around music long before television found her. Church, dance lessons, and a broad diet of records did the early work. In 2018 she entered the seventh series of The Voice UK on ITV and won it, crowned on 7 April, and signed with Polydor Records on the strength of it.
Ruti performs solo under her full name, Ruti Olajugbagbe. Her rooms have ranged from Sofar Sounds sets to bp pulse LIVE, and in 2025 she appeared at SXSW London sessions. That range, close-quarters solo shows on one end and full stages on the other, makes her a practical booking for college programs, corporate events, festival and fair lineups, and private engagements.
