American singer/songwriter Ryan Keith Follesé fronts the rock band Hot Chelle Rae and also has a solo career as a country artist. Born in Nashville in 1987 to songwriter parents Keith (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill) and Adrienne (Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum), Follesé grew up surrounded by country music. In 2005, he formed a band with friend and guitarist Nash Overstreet called Miracle Drug. Unsigned, they recruited bassist Ian Keaggy and Follesé's younger brother Jamie on drums, dubbing themselves Hot Chelle Rae. The band went on to score a hit in 2011 with the Follesé-penned track "Tonight, Tonight." After a few albums with his band, Follesé decided to return to his country roots and embarked on a solo career in 2016. He signed with Big Machine in June of that year, releasing his first single days later. The laid-back summer jam "Float Your Boat" saw Follesé take his knack for pop hooks and embellish it with some Southern twang. His move from pop/rock to pop-country would define the sound of his debut effort, which was planned for 2016.
