Pop singer Ryn Weaver debuted in the early summer of 2014 with the elaborately produced pop gem "OctaHate." Raised near Los Angeles, she spent time pursuing an acting career in New York before moving back to California to make music. Several tracks on her SoundCloud account led to a contract with the Interscope subsidiary Friends Keep Secrets, and in 2013, she made her first appearance, on a single by Cashmere Cat ("With Me").
Early in 2014, Weaver released "OctaHate." The single boasted some fairly famous collaborators in co-writers/producers Charli XCX, Passion Pit singer Michael Angelakos, Cashmere Cat, and Benny Blanco; these big-name connections helped lead the song to immediate success on Weaver's SoundCloud account. She followed with her debut EP Promises in August of 2014, and began working on a full-length.
