DJ, producer, entrepreneur, and sustainability pioneer Sam Feldt has established himself as one of the most sought-after electronic artists of recent times. Building his career around distinctly feel-good sound, Sam already has a double album and many top-selling releases under his belt. The platinum-selling DJ and producer has proven himself to be an entrepreneur at heart, with his own platform Fangage – meant for artists to connect with their fans better – and the launch of his own record label Heartfeldt Records, in 2020.
On top of this, with his project Heartfeldt Foundation, Sam is passionately working towards a more social and sustainable dance music industry. With this foundation, he promotes a sustainable lifestyle according to the Do-Give-Inspire and Empower model and aims to combine the reach of many different influencers to create awareness around sustainability issues. The foundation’s mission is a common thread for the entire Heartfeldt business chain: Heartfeldt Records, Heartfeldt Radio, and Heartfeldt Events. Both in music and life, Sam has his sights set firmly on the future.
Early life
Sam Feldt’s story begins at a very young age. As a youngster already, Sam was more interested in creating his own tunes than playing the songs the curriculum prescribed. However, long before that time, Sam’s keyboards teacher started showing him the basics of production. His production efforts turned serious after a 6-month internship on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, where he got introduced to the tropical house sound. After adopting the ‘Feldt’ moniker, Sam was signed to Spinnin’ Records and burst onto the international scene.
Music
Having made waves with a number of popular singles most notably is his remake of Robin S’ Show Me Love and his collaboration with fellow Dutchmen Lucas & Steve, Summer On You (ft. Wulf). Sam Feldt released his debut album in 2017, at the age of 24. Called Sunrise to Sunset, this conceptual record boasts 24 tracks, one for each hour of the day. Several singles were released in 2019, including his hit Post Malone (feat. RANI), which reached the impressive number of 200 million streams on Spotify. Sam Feldt’s latest successes are Stronger featuring Kesha and Follow me in collaboration With Rita Ora. Continuing to be passionate about discovering and guiding rising talent, Sam has launched his very own record label Heartfeldt Records, in 2020. Heartfeldt Records contains new sounds and artists.
Characterized by heavy use of vocals and live instruments, Sam Feldt’s music is warm and intimate. As a result, it lends itself exceptionally well to proper live performance. Accordingly, some of the musicians from Sam’s studio are now joining him on-stage. With Quirijn on trumpet and drums and Tariq on sax and piano, the live band has already conquered the stages of Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Creamfields. And another highlight that cannot miss in this list of shows is Sam’s solo performance at Coachella (2016 and 2019).
