Sara Evans is a country singer who works the ground between neotraditional country and country pop. Her records have come out on RCA Records Nashville and on her own Born to Fly Records, and the stretch from Slow Me Down in 2014 to Copy That in 2020 shows an artist still adding to a catalog more than two dozen titles deep, including the concert set Live from City Winery Nashville.
She came up singing before she came up in Nashville. Evans grew up in Boonville, in rural Missouri, and got her start in her family's group, The Barker Family Band, playing local clubs and county-fair stages such as the Meramec Community Fairgrounds long before she moved to Nashville to pursue country music.
