Sarah Jarosz is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose writing sits where folk, bluegrass, and americana meet. Undercurrent, in 2016, showed how much she could carry with very little around her. World on the Ground followed in 2020 and won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album. Polaroid Lovers, released in 2024 on Concord, is the most recent step in a catalog that now runs past twenty titles.
She came to it early. A Texas native, Jarosz started singing as a young girl and was an accomplished multi-instrumentalist by her early teens, with Austin as her home base.
Alongside her own records, Jarosz performs as part of I'm With Her with Sara Watkins and Aoife O'Donovan. Her live work has taken her to rooms including Wolf Trap, Hoyt Sherman Place, and Tarrytown House Estate on The Hudson, the kind of range that reads as easily on a festival bill as it does in a seated theater. That makes her a strong fit for college programs, performing arts centers, fairs and festivals, corporate events, and private engagements.
