Shakey Graves is the stage name of American musician Alejandro Rose-Garcia, who works a seam between folk, americana, alternative country, and indie rock. He put the project on the map with Roll the Bones in 2011, then broadened the sound on And the War Came in 2014, and by the time The Man From Taured arrived in 2017 the blues, folk, and rock strands he had been braiding together were fully his own. He records for Dualtone Music Group.
He did not start out playing music. Rose-Garcia was born in Austin, Texas, and pursued acting first, coming to the guitar afterward and building the Shakey Graves sound from there.
The Americana world caught up in 2015, when he took home the Best Emerging Artist award at the Americana Music Awards. On the road he has played rooms and open-air stages including Thompson's Point, the Stone Pony Summer Stage, and The Green at Shelburne Museum, which is the kind of range that makes him a natural fit for festival and fair lineups, college events, casino stages, and private engagements.
