SOTA is the drum & bass producer and DJ Tom Southon, whose jump-up style grew out of a background in drumming and a childhood love of rock music. After his first releases arrived in 2019, he built a catalog that runs from "Mesmer" through "Pray for Me" to his A.M.C remix of "Machete," with a point of view rooted in the rhythmic instincts he carried over from the kit.
That drumming foundation is the throughline: the rock kid who learned to play before he learned to produce, then turned that feel for tempo and impact into jump-up drum & bass.
Southon collaborated with Turno on "Flappers" and releases his work through State Of The Art. He was named Best Newcomer at the Drum&BassArena Awards in 2023 and has carried his sets to rooms like Plymouth Pavilions, District Cardiff, and Club Vinyl. Backed by major drum & bass festival bookings, SOTA is a live act suited to clubs, festival lineups, college events, and private engagements.
