Supergrass are an English rock band formed in Oxford in 1993, best known for their Mercury-nominated 1995 debut album, I Should Coco, which shot to number one on the UK charts after their Glastonbury set that summer and sold over a million copies worldwide behind the breakout single "Alright." Drawing on Britpop, alternative rock, and glam rock, they built out their catalog on Parlophone through In It for the Money (1997), Supergrass (1999), Life on Other Planets (2002), and the harder Diamond Hoo Ha (2008), with the 2004 retrospective Supergrass Is 10: The Best of 94-04 marking a decade of the band.
The band split in 2010, and it looked for a while like that was the end of the story. They reunited in 2019 and toured again in 2022, but 2025 marked something bigger: a full 30th anniversary run performing I Should Coco live in its entirety for the first time ever, a tour that took them through the UK, Australia, and North America, including a stop at Boston's MGM Music Hall at Fenway. The core lineup pairs Gaz Coombes on lead vocals and guitar with Danny Goffey, Mick Quinn, and Rob Coombes.
The group earned a Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act early on, along with Ivor Novello recognition, and has racked up six Top 10 albums and ten Top 20 singles over a three-decade career. Their touring has taken them to rooms like MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park and the Citizens House of Blues Boston, making them a sought-after live act for festival and fair lineups, college events, corporate dates, and private engagements.
