Surf Mesa is Powell Aguirre, a solo producer working in house, deep house and tropical house. He introduced the project with the four-song EP bedroom in 2019, then broke through the following year with "ily (i love you baby)" featuring Emilee, a track that earned an RIAA certification and got a second life through ARTY's remix. Come True followed in 2023.
He is a Seattle native who started early. Aguirre began experimenting with electronic music in third grade, and the bedroom EP that opened his catalog carried the name of the room it came out of.
Since then Aguirre has taken the project from that first EP to festival stages and clubs, including a set at CRSSD Festival 2021 on the Ocean View stage that folded a remix of "ily (i love you baby)" into his DJ mix, plus dates at DAER Nightclub in South Florida, Elsewhere and 45 East. With records on Boom.Records and a certified single behind him, he is a straightforward fit for festival lineups, college events, casino and nightclub bookings, and private engagements looking for a dance floor.
