The Fratellis are the Glasgow rock band behind "Chelsea Dagger," the stomping, singalong anthem that became one of the defining guitar hits of the 2000s. It was one of two UK Top 10 singles, along with "Whistle for the Choir," from their 2006 debut, Costello Music, which reached No. 2 in the UK, spent 83 weeks in the Top 100 and has sold more than a million copies there. The record won them the BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act in 2007, and they have kept releasing albums since, including We Need Medicine, In Your Own Sweet Time and Half Drunk Under a Full Moon.
The band name comes from a movie. When Jon, Barry and Mince formed the group in Glasgow in 2005, they borrowed the surname of the villainous Fratelli family from The Goonies, and the trio still leads the band today after a 2009 to 2012 hiatus.
The Fratellis remain a reliable festival draw, playing O2 Academy rooms across the UK and 2026 summer dates at Ireland's Forest Fest and Cheshire's Together Again Festival. With a set built around crowd-pleasing anthems, they are a strong fit for fair and festival lineups, college programming, casinos, corporate events and private shows.
