Boasting a big, lush sound that incorporates glitchy electronics and soaring alt-rock, Nashville's VERIDIA rose quickly after forming in 2013. They debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Christian albums chart in 2014 with their first EP, Inseparable.
Pretty Lies
Dallas, Texas natives Deena Jakoub (vocals) and Brandon Brown (guitar) relocated to Nashville, Tennessee after disbanding their former group Don't Wake Aislin. There, they recruited guitarist Trevor Hinesley and drummer Kyle Levy and began gigging locally and seeking out spots on the festival circuit. They signed with Word Entertainment, which released their debut EP, Inseparable, in 2014. It featured the Dove-nominated single "We Are the Brave." They followed it a year later with the EP Pretty Lies, which returned them to the Top 30 of Christian albums chart. In 2016, Hinesley left the group shortly before they embarked on a U.S. tour with Evanescence.
The Beast You Feed
VERIDIA then parted ways with Word and self-released their debut album, The Beast You Feed. Upon its arrival in 2018, it became a Top 40 independent album as well as their third straight record to appear on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
