We Came As Romans is a Michigan metalcore band known for soaring melodic hooks set against heavy breakdowns, with a run of albums that took them from the Warped Tour to the top of the charts. Understanding What We've Grown to Be reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 in 2011, Tracing Back Roots debuted at No. 8 in 2013 and the self-titled 2015 album hit No. 11. After moving to SharpTone for Cold Like War in 2017, they released Darkbloom in 2022, their first album after the 2018 death of co-vocalist Kyle Pavone, and All Is Beautiful... Because We're Doomed in 2025, led by the Mainstream Rock single "Bad Luck."
It started with high school friends in the Detroit suburbs. Formed in Troy, Michigan, in 2005 under the name This Emergency, the band became We Came As Romans in 2006 and today features vocalist Dave Stephens, guitarists Joshua Moore and Lou Cotton, bassist Andy Glass and drummer David Puckett.
The band built its name on the road, playing the Vans Warped Tour in 2011, 2013 and 2015, when they headlined the main stage, and touring with Parkway Drive and Bullet for My Valentine. In 2026 they played France's Hellfest. That deep catalog and road-tested live show make them a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college dates, casino stages and private events.
