XG is a seven-member Japanese hip-hop and R&B girl group signed to XGALX, the Avex subsidiary that assembled them. Their run of releases traces the group's growth in real time: SHOOTING STAR in 2023, AWE in 2024, and THE CORE - 核 in 2026, with dozens of other titles filling the gaps between them. The sound pulls from hip-hop and contemporary R&B as often as it does from pop and k-pop, which is what separates XG from the girl-group format they otherwise fit into.
The group formed in Tokyo and has been active since January 2022, but they are based in South Korea, and that split shapes them. They are a Japanese act built inside the Korean pop system, working in both markets at once rather than choosing one.
The lineup includes HINATA, チサ, and ココナ among its seven members. XG has played Coachella and worked through arenas and exhibition halls across Asia, including IMPACT Arena, Glion Arena Kobe, and SM Mall of Asia, a touring history that scales from festival stages to large indoor rooms.
