BJ Novak is an American comedian, writer, and voice actor whose career runs from the page to the stage to the screen. Born Benjamin Joseph Manaly Novak in 1979 in Newton, Massachusetts, he sharpened his comic instincts at Harvard, where he joined the Harvard Lampoon, then carried that wit west. His sensibility is built for both standup and the recording booth: he turned up among the featured performers on the 2013 'Saving Mr. Banks' soundtrack, lending his voice to "Let's Go Fly a Kite" and "Chim Chim Cher-ee (Responstible)."
He came up the working way. After moving to Los Angeles in the early 2000s, Novak built his craft the way comedians always have, performing stand-up in local clubs and grinding through the writers' rooms, including Comedy Central, before the act took shape on its own terms.
