Cornelius is the solo project of Keigo Oyamada, a Setagaya musician whose work moves across rock, funk, indie, and electronica. His 1998 album Fantasma sharpened that genre-blurring approach, and he carried it forward into Point in 2002 and Sensuous in 2006, recording for Warner Music Japan.
Oyamada built his songwriting and production craft before Cornelius, performing in the duo Flipper's Guitar with Kenji Ozawa. That partnership placed him at the center of the emerging Shibuya-kei movement, where he developed the studio sensibility that defines his solo work.
On stage, Cornelius has played venues including Club Quattro, KT Zepp Yokohama, and Zepp Fukuoka, drawing on a catalog that runs from disco and dance to alternative electronica. That range makes Cornelius a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college events, corporate showcases, and private engagements.
