Flawed Mangoes is the solo project of Evan Lo, a musician and producer based in Rochester, New York, working across instrumental hip hop, downtempo, chillwave, and boom bap. He began releasing digitally in the late 2010s, and early tracks like "U Melt Me" in 2016 and "Deep Sleeper" in 2017 set the instrumental foundation the project has built on since. Lo now records for Artist Partner Group.
The wider audience came later. Through the early 2020s, Flawed Mangoes drew broader recognition with a run of singles and EPs built around guest vocalists, a collaborative approach that opened the instrumental work up without moving away from it. The project has stayed active since 2020, and its catalog now runs well past three dozen releases.
Evan Lo is the singer-songwriter and musician behind every Flawed Mangoes record, and the project has carried that catalog to rooms including Paradise Rock Club, The Foundry at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, and The Garrison.
