Jain is the stage name of Jeanne Louise Galice, a French singer-songwriter from Toulouse whose songs move between pop, dance-pop, folk pop, and world music. Zanaka arrived in 2015 and set the pattern, with Souldier following in 2018 and The Fool in 2023. She records for SME.
Her sense of scale was built by moving. Galice spent her childhood between Dubai, the Republic of Congo, Abu Dhabi, and France, and that global range is the thing her writing keeps reaching back to.
Producer Yodelice worked with her on the Hope EP and on Come, the single that became her breakout. France answered fast: the Victoires de la Musique named her Female Artist of the Year in 2017 and handed Makeba the Music Video of the Year award that same year, and Makeba was still collecting prizes in 2023, when it took the Social Hit award at the NRJ Music Awards. The result is a live act that travels well, a strong booking for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate events, and private engagements.
