Jazmine Sullivan is an American R&B singer-songwriter known for her powerful and soulful voice. She was born on April 9, 1987, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began singing as a child, eventually performing on Showtime at the Apollo at age 11.
Sullivan gained recognition in the early 2000s with her debut single "Need U Bad," which was featured on her first album, Fearless (2008). Her sophomore album, Love Me Back (2010), produced the hit single "Holding You Down (Goin' in Circles)," which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
