JP Saxe is a pop and R&B artist who records under his own name, Jonathan Percy Starker Saxe, for SME. His 2021 album Dangerous Levels of Introspection was certified Gold in Canada, and he has kept a steady release pace since, with A Grey Area arriving in 2023 and Make Yourself at Home in 2025. The pop rock edges and the R&B phrasing sit side by side in his catalog, which is why he gets filed under Canadian pop and Canadian R&B and soul as often as straight pop.
He came to Toronto early. Saxe was born in Washington, D.C., and his family moved shortly afterward to Toronto, where he grew up. He later relocated to Los Angeles to pursue music.
