Lunay is Jefnier Osorio Moreno, a Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap artist whose catalog moves in a straight line from one song to a career. "Luz apaga" landed in 2018 and set the perreo terms he has worked ever since. Épico followed in 2019 and answered the harder question of whether he could hold an album rather than a single, and by El niño in 2021 he was writing at the scale of urbano latino radio, with Rimas Entertainment behind the release.
He built the first part of it himself, in public. Corozal gave him no industry to walk into, so he posted freestyle videos and early reggaeton recordings online until the songs did the introducing for him.
