Kenny Beats is the stage name of Kenneth Charles Blume III, a hip-hop and trap producer whose path to rap ran through the dance floor. He first gained recognition as half of the EDM duo LOUDPVCK, releasing electronic records through 2017 before shifting his focus back to hip-hop production. His solo studio album, Louie, followed in 2022, and he has since worked under SME as a Grammy-nominated producer.
He came to it early. Blume grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, picking up guitar at nine and drums after that, and was making beats by high school. He studied at Berklee College of Music, has been active since 2010, and now works out of Los Angeles at his own studio, The Cave.
His production credits run across the experimental edge of the genre and well past it, with sessions for Denzel Curry, Vince Staples, FKA twigs, and Kendrick Lamar among them. He has taken that catalog to stages including Under the K Bridge Park and Snapdragon Stadium, which makes him a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate events, casinos, and private engagements.
