Kevin James is the music project of Australian singer-songwriter Kevin James Carroll, who works in devotional and bhakti traditions, kirtan, mantra, and meditation music. What started as informal singing gatherings among friends in the 1990s has grown into a continuous practice: since 2010 he has traveled the world leading chanting circles built around devotional mantras and heartsongs. His recent releases include Wild Free Spirit in 2021 and Sweat the Small Stuff in 2025, distributed independently through Spotify as Kevin James.
His work lives as much on stage as on record. Carroll leads with vocals and guitar alongside Susana on harmonium, who co-leads the chanting circles and events with him. Together they have carried the practice across continents, from a live recording at the Volkshaus in Zurich, Switzerland in April 2022 to a chanting event called "Dance with the Whales" at Qi Yoga in Sydney, Australia, and a chanting circle in Helsinki, Finland. It makes him a natural fit for festivals, yoga and wellness gatherings, meditation events, retreats, and private engagements.
