King Princess is the stage name of Mikaela Mullaney Straus, an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Brooklyn, New York. She arrived in 2018 with "1950" and "Make My Bed," writing across pop, alternative pop and indie pop instead of picking one lane, then consolidated that run with "Cheap Queen" in 2019. "1950" was later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and "Talia" was certified gold in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association.
King Princess is a solo act, and the whole of it runs through Straus as writer, singer and player. She is signed to Mark Ronson's Zelig Records, an imprint of Columbia Records. On stage she has played Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Pepsi Center WTC and Melkweg, which makes her a sought-after live booking for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate dates, casinos and private events.
