La Roux is the Grammy-winning synth-pop project of singer and songwriter Elly Jackson, best known for the 2009 smash "Bulletproof," which debuted at No. 1 in the UK and reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its follow-up, "In for the Kill," hit No. 2 in the UK, and the self-titled debut album won the Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album and earned a Mercury Prize nomination. Trouble in Paradise reached the UK Top 10 in 2014, Supervision followed in 2020 on her own Supercolour Records, and her fourth album, Old Flames, arrives in November 2026.
The name comes from her hair. Jackson formed La Roux in London with producer Ben Langmaid, choosing a name that blends the French words for a red-haired man and woman to match her red hair and androgynous style, and she has carried the project on her own since Langmaid's exit.
Her songs keep finding new audiences, from Tion Wayne's 2022 UK Top 10 drill hit "IFTK," built on "In for the Kill," to "Discoproof" with Chromeo, and in 2026 she is touring as support on Hilary Duff's Lucky Me Tour. She is a strong fit for festival lineups, college events, casinos, corporate events and private shows.
