LiSA, born Oribe Risa, is a j-rock and j-pop vocalist whose work sits at the center of anime music. Her run of releases on YAEVA MUSiC tracks a steady climb from LEO-NiNE in 2020 through 白銀 in 2021 to LANDER in 2022, one entry in a catalog that now runs past thirty titles across pop rock, post-rock, and anime music.
She started out in a band. Raised in Seki, LiSA first sang as the vocalist of the rock group Love is Same All, and in 2010 she reached a much wider audience through Girls Dead Monster, the fictional band she voiced in the anime Angel Beats!. That role set the pattern for everything after it: a rock singer whose songs arrive attached to a story.
Her voice has since carried theme music for Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. In 2020, her song "炎" won the Japan Record Award, making her the first anime singer to take that honor. She also works well on a smaller stage, playing acoustic dates in 2017 at Legacy MAX in Taipei and REX Live House in Taichung. Between the award recognition and a songbook audiences already know by heart, LiSA is a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate events, and private shows.
