MIKA writes pop songs at a piano and then sends them out to the dance floor. That instinct is the through-line from No Place In Heaven in 2015 to My Name Is Michael Holbrook in 2019 and on to Hyperlove in 2026, a run of records that keeps sliding between piano rock, electropop and europop without ever letting go of the melody. They land on MIKA Punch, one corner of a working catalog that now runs past thirty titles.
This is not a career that started in a pop capital. MIKA was born in Beirut, and the music has kept that habit of crossing borders rather than settling inside one market. The 2023 album Que ta tête fleurisse toujours makes the point in its title alone: a pop writer comfortable enough in a second language to build a whole record there, then comfortable enough to go back to widescreen dance-pop on the next one.
