Lissie is an American folk rock singer whose reputation has grown steadily since Paste magazine named her Best New Solo Artist in 2010. She followed that notice with Covered Up With Flowers in 2011, and by the time My Wild West arrived in 2016 she had settled firmly into the country-leaning rock that suits her voice and her guitar. Castles came in 2018 on Lionboy Records, and the songwriting has stayed the point of it all the way through.
Lissie is the short version of the name. Elisabeth Corrin Maurus, out of Rock Island, is the long one, and she has built the catalog as the primary artist behind it: her vocals, her guitar, her material. Folk, country and rock all sit inside the same body of work without her having to pick one.
She has also recorded and performed billed with Øystein Greni.
