Lovejoy are a Brighton indie rock band known for wiry guitars, wry lyrics and a fiercely loyal online fan base. Their 2021 EP Pebble Brain reached No. 12 on the UK Albums Chart, 2023's Wake Up & It's Over debuted at No. 5, and they released their debut album, One Simple Trick, through Warner and Revolution Records in October 2025, followed by the Second to One EP in 2026.
It started with two bandmates from a folk group. William Gold, known online as Wilbur Soot, and guitarist Joe Goldsmith founded the band in 2021, originally calling it Hang the DJ, and filled out the lineup with bassist Ash Kabosu and drummer Mark Boardman, with all four sharing songwriting.
Lovejoy have become a festival fixture, playing Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Lollapalooza, Osheaga, Rock Werchter and TRNSMT, and they toured North America in 2025 on the One Simple Tour. That energetic live show makes them a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate events and private shows.
