Lupe Fiasco is a Grammy-winning Chicago rapper celebrated as one of hip-hop's most inventive lyricists. His 2006 debut, Food & Liquor, introduced "Kick, Push" and earned him a Grammy for "Daydreamin'" with Jill Scott, "Superstar" and "The Show Goes On" both reached the Hot 100 Top 10, and 2011's Lasers debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. His recent albums, Drill Music in Zion and the Amy Winehouse-inspired concept album Samurai, have drawn some of the strongest reviews of his career.
He brings a scholar's mind to the mic. Born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco on Chicago's West Side, Lupe has taught "Rap Theory and Practice" as a visiting scholar at MIT and in 2025 joined Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute as a Distinguished Visiting Professor.
Lupe still tours widely, playing venues like Chicago's Salt Shed and New York's Rooftop at Pier 17, and in 2026 he hits the road across North America with Gym Class Heroes and B.o.B on the Back to Basics tour.
