Mack 10 is a West Coast rapper and actor whose work sits in gangsta rap and g-funk. His self-titled 1995 debut, Mack 10, was certified Gold by the RIAA, and the records that followed kept him in the conversation for years after: Bang or Ball in 2001 and Soft White in 2009, two markers in a catalog that runs more than twenty titles deep.
He came up in Inglewood, California. Born Dedrick Rolison, of Mexican and African American descent, he built his own infrastructure early by founding the independent label Hoo-Bangin' Records rather than working solely on someone else's terms.
