Nico & Vinz are an Oslo duo who blend pop, reggae, and soul into something distinctly their own. Their 2014 album Black Star Elephant carried the breakout single "Am I Wrong," and they followed it with "In Your Arms" the same year and "That's How You Know" in 2015. They record for Warner Bros. Records, and their sound moves easily across pop, R&B, Afrobeat, and reggae.
The duo is Nicolay Sereba, of Norwegian-Ivorian origin, and Vincent Dery, of Ghanaian origin. The fusion at the center of their music grew out of their parents' record collections and repeated trips to the West Coast of Africa, and that mix of pop, reggae, and soul became their signature.
That work has been recognized at home and across Europe. Black Star Elephant won the 2014 European Border Breakers Award and took Best Pop Group at the 2014 Spellemannprisen, Norway's Grammy, while their video for "One Song" earned Best Music Video at the 2011 Spellemannprisen. They remain a live draw, with a 2025 performance set for Grefsenkollen in Norway, and they make a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college events, corporate dates, and private engagements.
