Notre Dame has been working under that name since 1997, and the project has never held still inside one genre. The early records made their case in theatrical black metal, with Le Théâtre du Vampire arriving in 1999 and the Osmose Productions catalog behind it, and Demi Monde Bizarros following in 2004. What sits on either end of the discography now tells the real story: black metal on one side, house, tribal, and electronic on the other, held together by a taste for spectacle rather than by any one style.
The roots are in Gothenburg. Notre Dame started producing at a very young age, moving between genres before settling on electronic music and shaping a sound that belongs to him rather than to a scene. That long apprenticeship shows up in a set that treats a club floor and a stage show as the same problem.
Snowy Shaw and Vampirella round out the lineup, and the touring map has taken the project to Tokyo, London, Miami, and Paris, with stops at rooms as different as the Santa Monica Pier, La Terrazza, and Chateau de Maisons-Laffitte. That range is the selling point: an act built for international club and festival circuits that reads just as well on a college stage, a casino floor, or a private event where the show needs to carry the room.
