Of Mice & Men are a metalcore band that has never been content to stay in one lane. Their records pull from post-hardcore, alternative metal, screamo and nu metal, and the approach paid off commercially when Restoring Force, released through Rise Records, went to No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. They have kept the release schedule moving ever since, through Echo in 2021 and on to Another Miracle in 2025, which puts them in the small group of heavy bands still writing new material more than fifteen years in.
The band started with an exit. Vocalist Austin Carlile left Attack Attack! in 2009 and built something new in Costa Mesa, California, and the group has been working under that name since.
The roster has turned over more than once along the way, with Carlile, Shayley Bourget, Valentino Arteaga, Jaxin Hall and Jon Kintz among the players who have carried it. What has held steady is the road: rooms like 170 Russell, The Triffid and Manning Bar sit on a touring history that stretches well past their home state, and their audience skews toward the college-age crowd that grew up on this catalog. That makes them a strong fit for college events, festival and fair lineups, casinos and private engagements.
