Pam Tillis is a country singer and songwriter whose work runs from honky tonk to country pop and folk-leaning singer-songwriter material. She signed with Warner Bros. Records in 1981, then hit her stride at Arista in the early 1990s with albums including Put Yourself in My Place and Homeward Looking Angel. She has kept following her own instincts since: It's All Relative (Tillis Sings Tillis), released in 2002, turned her attention to the catalog of her father, Mel Tillis, and 2007's Rhinestoned arrived on her own Stellar Cat Records.
Country music was the family business before it was her career. Tillis was born in Plant City, Florida, and raised mostly in Nashville, where she started piano lessons at age eight and grew up around the music she would later make her own.
Her credentials include a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals, won for "Same Old Train" at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards. She also performs as part of Grits and Glamour, and her touring calendar has taken her from Nashville's 3rd & Lindsley to The Coach House and Five Flags Center.
