Parker McCollum writes country music that carries an Americana streak, and he has spent the last decade turning that blend into one of the format's steadier climbs. He started young, putting out his first EP in 2013, and by the time Gold Chain Cowboy arrived on MCA Nashville he had grown from a songwriter working the margins into an artist the industry was watching. The records since, Handle On You and Never Enough among them, have only sharpened the case, and in 2025 he put his own name on the album cover.
He came up Texas to the bone. McCollum grew up in Conroe in a family that fed him country music alongside plenty else, and he was writing songs before he had anything to release. That early apprenticeship shows in the work: the songs came first, the crowds followed.
The proof is in the rooms he now fills. In 2024 he headlined the Burn It Down Tour across large U.S. venues, and he has sold out RodeoHouston in front of more than 73,000 fans. The accolades have kept pace, with two Academy of Country Music Awards, a CMA Song of the Year nomination in 2024 for "Burn It Down," and a CMT nod for "To Be Loved By You." All of it makes him a proven draw for festivals and fairs, college events, corporate dates, and private shows.
