Pat Benatar is a rock singer and solo lead vocalist whose work sits across hard rock, classic rock, and pop rock. Her second album, Crimes of Passion, made her famous in the 1980s and carried the hit "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." She has kept the catalog moving since, from the concert release One December Night in 2015 to Together in 2020, and she records for Taurus.
She was born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski on January 10, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, with roots in Greenpoint. The name on the marquee changed. The voice behind it is the same one that turned a 1980 rock record into a career.
The awards followed quickly: four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance between 1980 and 1983, another in 1984 for "Love Is a Battlefield," and the People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Musical Performer in 1980. On the road she plays rooms like Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort, Township Auditorium, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa, which makes her a strong fit for casino showrooms, performing arts centers, festival lineups, corporate events, and private engagements.
