Paul Russell is the rapper, singer and songwriter behind "Lil Boo Thang," the feel-good disco-rap hit that went viral on TikTok in 2023 and climbed to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song went double Platinum in the U.S. and Platinum in Australia and the UK, and it took him from viral clip to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Signed to Arista Records, he followed with the EP Again Sometime?, collaborations with Meghan Trainor and Saweetie, and the 2026 single "High Maintenance."
His path to the charts ran through the corporate world. Raised near Atlanta and in Allen, Texas, Russell graduated from Cornell University in 2019 and worked as a business analyst while releasing music on the side, until a TikTok preview of "Lil Boo Thang" changed everything.
Russell has opened for Meghan Trainor on The Timeless Tour, headlined his own Family Reunion Tour in 2025 and played state fair grandstands and college stages, and he earned two Kids' Choice Award nominations in 2024. With a crowd-pleasing hit and an easygoing stage presence, he is a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate events and private shows.
