Pinegrove is an indie rock band whose songs sit close to alternative folk and roots rock, led by singer-songwriter Evan Stephens Hall. The group's catalog runs from the loose, live-feeling Skylight in 2018 through Marigold in 2020, a stretch in which the band settled into the sound it had been circling for years. Pinegrove records for Rough Trade.
They came up on their own terms. Formed in Montclair, New Jersey in 2010, the band introduced itself with a self-released EP, Mixtape One, built around Hall and core members Zack Levine and Nick Levine. That family-and-friends foundation has held: the Levines remain at the center of the group more than a decade on, and Pinegrove has been an active band every year since 2010.
The lineup has since grown to include Adan Carlo Feliciano, Nandi Rose Plunkett, and Sam Skinner, filling out arrangements that move between indie pop warmth and rougher alternative rock. Pinegrove is a strong fit for college programming boards, festival and fair lineups, corporate events, and private engagements looking for a band with a decade of records behind it.
