Pomo, the production project of David Pimentel, works in beat music, electronic, and future-funk-influenced production with roots in neo-soul. He has been active under the Pomo name since at least 2013, the year he signed to HW&W Recordings and began drawing wider attention.
The move that started it came from Vancouver to Montreal, where Pimentel relocated to focus on making music. There, support from producer Kaytranada for his track "So Fine" caught the right ears and led to his signing with HW&W, launching the career that followed.
As a producer Pomo has shaped tracks for some of the genre's most recognizable names, including Mac Miller's single "Dang!" and Anderson .Paak's "Am I Wrong," and he holds a production credit on Jon Batiste's Grammy-winning album. That track record makes him a sought-after act for college events, corporate functions, festival lineups, casinos, and private engagements.
