Puddle of Mudd is a post-grunge and alternative rock band built around singer and rhythm guitarist Wes Scantlin. Their commercial high mark remains Come Clean, released in 2001, and its single "Blurry," the song still listed as the band's biggest. Recording for Universal Music Group, they kept working long past that peak, from Re:(disc)overed in 2011 to Welcome to Galvania in 2019, and most recently Kiss the Machine in 2025.
The band is older than the radio years imply. Scantlin formed it on September 13, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri, alongside guitarist Jimmy Allen, bassist Sean Sammon, and drummer Kenny Burkitt. More than three decades on, Scantlin is the constant; the lineup around him has cycled through dozens of players.
That churn has not slowed the touring calendar. Recent dates put the band on stages including the Genesee Theatre, the M Resort Spa and Casino, and The KING of CLUBS, a spread of theaters, casinos, and clubs that suits a catalog stretching across more than sixty releases.
