Raekwon, known as "the Chef," is a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan and the voice behind one of hip-hop's most celebrated albums. His 1995 solo debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..., debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, went Platinum and is widely hailed as a classic of the mafioso rap style, and its 2009 sequel, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II, was named HipHopDX's album of the year. He has kept the run going with albums like Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, Fly International Luxurious Art, The Wild and 2025's The Emperor's New Clothes.
It all started in Staten Island. Born Corey Woods, Raekwon helped launch the Wu-Tang Clan on its Platinum 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), then signed a solo deal with Loud Records and built a career that has run alongside the group's for three decades. His story is told in the 2021 book From Staircase to Stage.
Raekwon still brings that catalog to stages from The Brooklyn Mirage to The Fillmore Miami Beach, often teaming with Wu-Tang brothers like Ghostface Killah and Method Man. With classic material fans know by heart, he is a strong fit for college programming, festival and fair lineups, casinos, corporate events and private shows.
