Regina Spektor is a solo singer, songwriter and pianist working across folk, anti-folk and art pop. She self-released her debut album, 11:11, in 2001, and the catalog that followed now sits with WMG, running from What We Saw From the Cheap Seats in 2012 through Home, Before and After in 2022. The piano stays at the center of all of it.
The training came before the songs. Born in Moscow, in what was then the Soviet Union, Spektor began studying classical piano at six. Her family emigrated to New York City in 1989, where she continued that classical work, and she did not begin writing pop songs until her late teens.
She records and performs as a solo artist, and her touring has taken her to the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, Bayou Music Center, and the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. That mix of concert halls and larger rooms makes her a natural fit for performing arts center seasons, college programming, corporate events and private engagements.
